Electrical failure while driving

Last night, I was taking one of my friends for a ride in my car. We were flying through a curvy road, when all of a sudden everything electronic turned off for about a second then turned back on. My headlights, interior lights, CD player all turned off. But when they came back on the motor was still running and every thing seemed fine. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I would hate to think what would have happened if I was going through a sharp corner at 70mph and this happened.
