HOW TO CLEAN AND DEGREASE A Y-PIPE before installation

I looked all through the How-to's and did not find the answer anywhere. Someone mentioned recently that your car will smell for a while after a Y-pipe install if you dont clean and degrease it. I was planning on doing this tomorrow so Id appreciate any advice ASAP.

Takes 5 minutes of driving for the protective coating to burn off. Don't waste your time, just install it and enjoy it.

yea took like 8 minutes.... Hell i installed a high flow cat at the same time. it really stank! like r0ses! haha

He probabaly got that from me. I just did it so I wouldnt have to sit there and wait till the smell went away. Some people said it can take awhile. I also wanted to tak a pic or two of it and didnt want the thing full of browm smudges.
