noise from left rear wheel when turning right

The noise only happens when I make sharp right turn. It's a distinct, repeating "clunk" noise from the left rear wheel. Anyone know what's wrong?

There are no struts on the rear wheels of a maxima - there are shock absorbers... a blown shock may make the sounds you are describing.
