when should my fuel system status be in closed loop O2 or open drive O2?
under what conditions should by car be in closed loop O2 mode and when should it be in open drive O2? what is the difference?
The ECU goes into closed-loop mode at any partial throttle opening and at idle when the engine has reached operating temps. Closed-loop means that the ECU is using the O2 sensors to try to keep the a/f ratio at 14.7 to 1.
The ECU goes into open-loop mode at WOT and at idle when the engine is cold. In these situations the ECU ignores O2 sensor signals and reverts to preset fuel maps based on MAF voltage and RPM.
