car smells when y pipe is first put in?

finally went to a muffler place to get my warspeed y pipe put in. while i was driving and testing it out i could smell something coming through the vents and when i got out of the car. does the y pipe need to break in? also, once i get to about 5000 or 6000 rpm i can hear it buzzing.

Yes, there will be a burn off period then the smoke and smell will be gone.

Whatever they have coated on the metal stinks when you heat it up. Plus, on mine, some of the packaging tape they sent it with was stuck on there. That stunk too. It is gone now.

It will not matter when you start enjoying all the power that thing has.

Oh, and it is going to sound more raspy. It just does that. You are hearing a more straight-through design at work. The other one had some precats that stopped some of that noise.

What exhaust did you decide to go with and b-pipe?
Stock?

I'm still on the stock B-pipe and res with a straight through muffler. It's kind between 1000 and 1500 rpms but it sounds mean when I lay on it.
