Need advise on a 4th Gen.

Hello all,

Well I just sold my 2K SE auto, and now gauging interest in an older 4th gen. 5 spd. Is it possible to get a clean 95-97 for $5000? Also, any problems with the 5spds that I should know about? I'm assuming it will be more fun to drive than my previous "boat" Thanks for the help!!!

Very fun. Read about the bearing preload problem in the faqs. for that kind of money your probably looking at kind of high mileage. I paid $5600 for 91K and that was one of the best I found around here. You might do a little better if you were willing to travel. It does seem like prices have gone down quite a bit since last year too though. good luck.

Thanks,

Yea I'm not too concerned about the mileage, since I know the 3.0 is bullitproof. I will read the FAQ's (I'm not a newbie, I should know better haha) and see what I can find for $5,000.

You should definately be able to find a 95-97 for that price...5 speed too...the only issues that can creep up...are input shaft and throwout bearing...from what I remember...best of luck
