Why use a Pathfinder TB?

I've checked the stickies and couldn't find why anyone would want to use a Pathfinder TB in our 4th gens so could someone please explain it to me?

The Pathfinder TB is 70mm while our stock one is about 60.

So better airflow? Is it basically an over-glorified intake mod?

Yupp.

Don't know how much power stock would get but heavily modded cars get some good gains.

There's no dyno or track proof this TB does anything for a modified NA 4th gen so I'd hold off until you read otherwise. Bigger is not always better. 4.6 SOHC V8 Mustangs seem to do completely fine with 60mm TBs and aftermarket 65/70mm units don't do much for those cars unless the owner gets a reprogrammed MAF and intake manifold extension. I can't see how a significantly larger TB on a 3.0 V6 will do much good.

I will have some results soon enough. My internship has me working well over 50hrs a week with one day off, now they are sending me on a week long seminar thing from the 7th-11th. Doesn't look like I'll get to dyno till the middle/end of the month.

Let me know where & when you decide to dyno & I'll join you.

I'm not sure what kind of gains you could expect on a N/A engine, well have to wait for the dyno results on that one. But it would probably help significantly on a boosted application
