CEL 0503 after y-pipe & catback install, common?
Pulled my codes tonight because my CEL came on a few days after installing my y-pipe and catback. Pulled 0503 (Front Right 02 Sensor) and 34 (Knock Sensor - which I knew about already).
Is the 0503 code common with a y-pipe and should I now expect to blow through O2 sensors all the time now?
Oh yeah, anyone know where I can get cheap O2 sensors from?

probalby nothing wrong, just reset the ECU, make sure you dind tget any antiseize compound on the sensors, if you did clean it off with alcohol swabs, if you dont disconnect the battery when you do the install, it messes with the sensor readings. try to reset and see if it comes back, the knock sensor code is being tirpped because of the O2 sensor code

Cool, I reset the ECU after I pulled the codes. I know my knock sensor is bad, I just haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.
When I did the install, I just uncliped the sensors from the harness and dropped the y-pipe with them in it. Then I removed them, put 'em in the new one and reinstalled it.
I didn't disconnect the battery though, so that may be it.

You probably broke a wire on the O2 sensor. You unclipped the harness but there are 4 or so clips along the way that are connected to various spots in the engine bay. When you yanked down the Y you probably broke one.

after my exhaust install i got a cel and it was for the rear o2 sensor. it went off and on for a while and has finaly gone away and hasnt come back on for a while. im guesing that the ecu was just getting used to the new exhaust flow or something. maybe your car is doing the same... i asked the guy at nissan about it and he said that if it went away than there shouldnt actauly be anything wronge with the sensor.

LMAO! Dude, seriously ... I'm not an idiot.

It is not hard to break the connections in the wireing. Nissan used some crappy wire throughout the entire car, so it is very possible that the connection came loose or broke. You wouldn't be the first to do it either.
