The 98/99 ECU Thread

We have to utilize what resources we can to have one developed.
That includes what has already been mentioned... tapping CS/EE people with IC experience. Someone among us should know someone... and what needs to be done seems absurdly simple compared to the work these people do on a regular basis...

I need some help here.
Like a lot of people recently graduated from college, I have quite a few friends with CS/EE backgrounds. I've approached a couple of them, and they are willing to start work on modifying a 99 ECU. Here's what they need:
Stock 95-97 ECU
Stock 99 ECU
Upgraded 95-97 ECU The closer a match the stock ECU is to the upgraded ECU, the better- So if you are supplying a 5-sp stock ECU, an upgraded 5-sp ECU for the same year is easier to reverse-engineer.
In the alternative, if anyone can get PRECISE methodology for modifications from JWT/Technosquare, reverse-engineering their changes and applying some of them to the 99 is possible without having the older ECUs as a point of reference. However, that is proprietary information which I believe they are unwilling to release.
In addition, if the 95-97 changes can be reverse-engineered, and equipment costs aren't too high, you will have jump-started a possible price competitor to JWT and Technosquare for ECU upgrades for older Maximas as well.
Also, I could REALLY, REALLY use diagrams of the PCB and the pin-outs for both the 98-99 and the 95-97.
At present, I don't have a time frame, unfortunately, but I can tell you that more work will be done on this than apparently has in the past by vendors.
Let's try to do everything we can to get this off the ground. Enlist whomever necessary. Scrounge, steal, etc, wherever necessary.

That's great!
I have the complete '98 FSM in PDF format, as well as 97 and 99 FSMs (but only the 98 is from the official CD; the other two are PDF scans only). I know it has circuit diagrams and tons of electrical info but I don't know if it has exactly what you need. PM me if you want it.
You can probably get ECUs cheap off of car-part.com, or you could post in the General Maxima Discussion forum and the classifieds forum to ask if anyone wants to donate the ECUs you need. I know a guy who will have a spare stock 95 auto ECU once he swaps in a 5-speed ECU.

Jouvert put it in today, we rode around, it feels great
I'll let him tell you about it tomorrow when he gets to a computer.
