fog light rewire

anyone with a 96 se do the independent rewire for their fog lights
i took a look at the write up and took a look at my car and said what the heck, did anyone tap into any other wire than for the wipers and it still worked?

What seems to be the problem...too many wires, or not the right wire, not enough room, etc...?

I just did this a few days ago on my 97 se with no problems...not sure how it is on a 96 though.

I tapped into my parking lights so you have to have them on for the fogs to work and it also makes the headlights brighter since there is no pull....if you tap into your wipers then everytime you use your wipers the fogs go out =(

Try it acj if you did it that way and youll see that it is not a good idea to do it that way.................tap into your parking lights and do the parking lights brighter MOD.

I tapped into my wiper and it does NOT cause my fogs to go out when my wipes are on. There are 2 wires to use for this (from the wipers). One of them will cause the fogs to go out when wipers are on, the other will not.

I have no problems with my set up at all. I leave my fogs on at all times so it kind of like a daytime running light.

my prob was when i opened everything up to see what wires go here and there etc
right under the cover for the relay for the fog light i have no relay.
so i thought maybe the cover was replaced, so i have to take a look at my haynes manual to see which color wire it is.

The one that's not orange. Here's the writeup complete with correct colors...I'm going to do this soon too. Anybody know what guage wire to use so I don't have to take it apart before going to the store?

I've tried posting a reply for the past 20 minutes, maybe this one will work (I love my dial up internet!!!!)

anyway, I think it was a solid light green colored wire. There was another one mentioned, I think maybe red/orange or something, but that is the WRONG wire. Use the light green or just green wire....you shouldnt need much wire to do this as it is all in the fuse box---maybe just 3 or 4 inches.

If you check the how-to's, there maybe a write up on this, it may be in the mod faq section...not sure.
