If you beleive they are really dirty, then do the cheapest thing first. Go get some good ijector cleaner from the stor and use that. If that still dosent help then you should get them professionally cleaned. If this dosent do anything, then you should start to look into injector replacement.

I thought additive is not recommended. I am curious. What do you use?

They are not recomended as a maintanece, but if you suspect your injectors are dirty that would be the first thing I would do since it is the cheapest.

As far as what brand to use I wouldnt be able to tell you, cause I havent had any injector problems.

Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner. Probably the best over the counter stuff you can buy.

Whatever crap you buy over the counter won't work. I heard that the chevron stuff works but you have to use it repeatedly. How do you know your injectors are bad? Do you even know if they are or not?

Its not easy at all. If you have been around car for a long time, you can take a screw driver, or socket extension and put one end on your ear, and the other end on the injector. You should hear a sharp cliking noise. If its muffled then your injector is dirty. Thats the hard way. The easy way it to use a scanner that displays live data, on a per cylinder basis. If you look at misfire counts at each cylinder, there should be none. But sometimes there are some that are either to sparatic or to far apart, to set a CEL. These missfires are often times caused by bad injectors, but dont rule out coils, plugs, ect.

^What he said. Listen for fast ticking coming from the injectors, all should have the same rhythm. You can also pick up a multiMeter and check the resitance of each injectors. I did with mine and had 12ohm accross the board.

Sea Foam !!!!! This is what many dealerships use to clean intake and injectors....the same ones that charge $100 or more!!! Do a search ....there is a real good thread out there on how to use it. I flushed mine last night for the 1st time. This stuff works great. Get it @ NAPA, CarQuest, or O'Reilley's. or www.seafoamsales.com Cost is $5-$6 per can. Good Luck.
