Steering Issue
I'm posting this again, with a little more info, as the last time nobody responded. I'm at a lost as to what could be wrong with the car. This started happening either after I changed the driveaxles or after an alignment. Not sure, because they were so close together.
When accelerating from a stop, the car drives straight, with the steering wheel centered. When it shifts from 1st to 2nd, this remains the case. Upon shifting from 2nd to 3rd, the car will pull to the right significantly. This isn't just torque steer, it's as if the steering just "shifts" to the right, because after this I have to hold the wheel to the left about 20 degrees to keep the car driving straight. It stays the same through fourth gear. It will reset itself too; when I stop at a light and continue, the car will drive straight with the wheel centered. Also, if I'm on the highway and I punch it and the gearbox downshifts into 2nd, it will correct itself.
Any input is appreciated. I'm going to Denver in a couple weeks, and having the car jump to one side at highway speeds is highly unnerving. Plus, I can't really trust someone else to drive it while it's doing this. Thanks guys.

1) Defective tie rod end.
2) Lose lower strut mount bolt. (I'm leaning twards this one)
3) Lose ball joint or bad bushing on a lower control arm.
I'd get under there and check those items ASAP.

Tom-
Hey, thanks a lot for the input. I checked everything out, the bushing on the right control arm is completely shot. everything else is fine. Hayne's manual says I have to have his replaced by a machine shop or replace the whole control arm. Any input on this? Money is extremely tight at the moment. I can do pretty much anything myself, but not if something requires machining. Thanks again.
