Sorry about the window man. Next time I'll be more careful next time. As a matter of fact if you want it back come to 2345 Ghetto Lane after 12p.m. I'm sure we can work something out behind the wood shed.

Dude im sorry to hear it. But why the hell would you park your car there with all that **** that you had in it. Thats just like leaving the doors open. Glass may keep the rain out but not grimy *** people. Look on the bright side.... at least they didnt steal the entire car like what i went through in october. It would be cool if there was a way to have windows made out of that temper glass. That stuff wont break for the life of it, not even if you hit it with a hammer. It only has 1 weak point and not that many people know about it. But good luck and i hope that you find out who did it.

Sorry man. If you find out who did it, give him a little extra of a beating for those of us who have had to deal with the same thing.

Sorry to hear of your loss but at least it was just material stuff. Although, threads like these make me wonder why no one's using lexan rather than glass. I mean, the stuff is cheap, easy to cut with a bandsaw and is bulletproof (will stop 9mm rounds shot at point blank range). When installed, it looks just like glass; I know because I used to use it all the time the modded computers I built.

Is that the actual reason or conjecture?

I remember that i went to an auto show a really long time ago. My boys father wanted to buy a new saburban and we were talking to someone there and there was this video playing. The had a black truck and it was a mess. Aparently and i dont know just how true this is but we were told that you can order the truck with this option. It would make the glass bullet proof, doors much stronger, and something with the tires. Kinda reminded me of something out of a 007 movie. Agian im not so sure if this is true but the truck was there and the vidio showed people shooting this thing with hand guns to rifles.
Having bullet proof glass all around would be an amazing thing but one can only wonder how much that would cost.

Can you break lexan with little pressure? If not, it is illegal because if the car is under water an you cannot open the door. You would have to break the glass to escape.

Good point... I never thought of that. I know with that temper glass, you can hit the front all you want it wont break but once you hit the side it will fall apart.

Damn man that really sucks. North Jersey isn't fun. My brother actually lives in Piscataway. The neighborhood he lives in is known for having cars broken into. It's not the ghetto or anything, its actually very nice townhouses, but thats how North NJ is .

If you're ever underwater, roll down your windows and let water in to equalize the pressure. If you try to open your door without doing so, you won't move the door at all. Take a deep breath, roll down your windows and once the water has flooded the interior, open your door and swim out.

Hmm sounds like a plan...but supposing you have power windows (like almost every max). As soon as your car hits the water your electrical system = dead. Now you are trapped in your car with windows you can't break...not such a good idea.

Then you just wait for the water to fill the car. Once it's nearly full, take a deep breath and open your door. The pressure doesn't need to be exactly equal.

Only problem with that is power windows - once your electrical system hits water, they won't work.

Thats why THT keeps saying the same thing over and over. You dont need to roll your widows down to get out of the car!

By the way this thread is getting a little, well you know................

Also the reason why that glass is illegal is cause if ur in a life threatining situation like a bad accident and fire dept can't get in they have to break the glass......all those lil conformities kinda suk.......

here is a question.... how does insurance cover that. i mean what do you need cause im sure they know that people arent honest and will lie about what was taken. Do you need pictures and reciepts? Now this may sound stupid but would it work for after market parts as well.... body, performance etc.???

As long as you have receipts and pictures of the parts, your insurance should reimburse you. They'll fight you on fair value though.
