AHHH. There must be a better way? I bent it to the width of the actual number and stuffed it in the lower opening on my 95. It is better, but it is also worse, ya kna mean.

There must be something. I'd like to motorize it so it flips out from a horizontal position under and behind the lip with the flick of a switch when I see a copper coming.

They harrass the hell out of me in my home town cause they all know me personally. For better or for mostly worse.

I had my plate off and got stopped by prolly by every cop on the Brigantine force, and thats 1 for every 3 families, and there is nothing but freakin families everywhere in Brig. AHHH.

they're not that bad...

they can sometimes act as a "shield" when someone backs into your car...

it's saved me a couple of times...

yuck

I feel you on the front plate. I got so mad at mine i finnaly took it off. Ive been pulled over 5(!!) times with it off and not a one said a thing. Hmm maybe its not illegal in maine, cuz the cop who gave me a ticket for having fog lights was on a power trip...

I agree with you on the front plates. In Canada, it's the law that you have to have a front license plate. It makes the car look worse however I agree when you said that it might come in handy in a small fender bender. I've seen some people place the license plate on the dash. My friend has it like this and he hasn't been bothered by any cops yet.

...front license plates do suck. Too bad Jersey law requires them too. But it has saved me from a messed up front bumper a few times... that is why mine is crispity crunchity and all jacked up looking. BUT another thing alot of people don't know about for states with this stupid law is that it would be legal for you to have it anywhere on the car as long as it is visible in the front... I know alot of people who just stick it on the dash in the windshield b/c of body kits w/ no front plate brackets or it looks just plain fugly after hooking up the car... then you can take it off and cops can't give you a ticket for it.

All you have to do is rock the tinted plate covers. They are also illegal, but the popo doesn't harass you as much. I would still prefer no plate on the front at all, but that would just add to the list of reasons for stopping me.

Well the look is subjective, but that tag bracket scratches the F outta my paint. However I've gotten used to mine. I proudly display my vanity tags on both front and rear. I used to have it in the lower opening as well, never got harrassed about it either.

ny cops suck

in ny it is illegal but i just rock it without, the plates make the front so ugly, but like others said i just throw it onto the dash if i see a cop approaching or when i do get pulled over. I place it between the seatbelt and the seat so it is conveniten to grab

you get tickets here in IL for not having em.
But I've never had my front one on any of my cars and
so far(knock on wood) no tickets.
I hate the front plate. Those lazy cops can walk to the back of car or slow down behind me to get my plate number.

In Texas you're supposed to have front plates. But every car my family has ever had we've removed the front plates. They just look better. My Max is running naked up front. I've been pulled over plenty of times and never once has a cop said anything about it.

Re: TX

actually, here in colorado, there is a new bill that says we no longer need front plates cuz pretty basically its a waste of money, cuz think about it, if your speeding or anything like that the only way a cop is going to see your front plate is if he is going the opposite way, but then again if your speeding how is he going to read it? haha
also have any of you guys ever seen anyone get pulled over from the front, COME ON, FRONT PLATES ARE WORTHLESS!!!!!!!!

lemme tell you this.. i took off my front plate and plate bracket cuz it looked gay and put it then right corner of my windshield.. i got pulled over one day and the cop was a **** and asked why it was there, i simply told him that the front bracket fell off and i had to place an order for one at nissan.. they told me it would take 8 weeks to get.. he said okay.. i got pulled over again and used the same story the cop told me it was cool he was just curious.. so you can get by without it.. or move !!

I hate them too. Added to having the front plate, I have the clear plate covers and some nucklehead backed into it and put a crack in it. It's dumb that these companies produce products like these, they don't make them more flexible. The nucklehead was in his car with a whole car load of nuckleheads smokin weed. Dumb A$$e$.

I hate em too, the plate just takes away from the clean look. It ****es me off when I see some cop cars without front plates on, and it's illegal to not have a front plate here.

I haven't had any trouble yet. But then again, my car actually looks like I got into a front end accident, so I jsut use that story.

But I think that it's a fix-it ticket. Cops catch you with no front plate, they give you a ticket to fix it. So just put it back on, drive to your local police station and let them sign it off and then take it back off.

But that's just what I heard. Don't quote me on it.

NO PLATES

My Front License plate has been hanging up in my room for the past 5 years...ever since I learned how to drive....and by the way I live in CT...it's the law to to have it attached; however many cars around here don't have one.
