right next to the slant of the front doors, there is a plastic covering parallel to it on either side of the windshield. I want to put some foam in there to prevent rattling. does anyone know how to remove this? thanks

All you do is take a screwdriver (taped up) and put it in between the plastic and the door of the car. Then just pry outwards very slowly, with little force. It is held to the car by those little annoying clips. A word of advice, when you are putting foam in there, apply a little clear silicone to it, that will secure it much better. Good luck.

Ramius83: thanks for the how 2 of removing the panels. Mine rattle and squeak like a *****!

Ch12i5: what are you using to stop the squeaking. I was thinking about stufing some padding in there and then squeezing it back on there nice and tight. Let me know what you use.

i use the silicone spray

hey ny, well, the silicone spray works wonders. i spent about a whole hour just spraying down weather stripping and such. it stops any squeaking with the rubber, and it makes me feel like my car is more expensive! (since the doors open quieter).

for the A pillars, i was just thinking to use a foam stripping with adhesive...and the spray it down with a little silicone. i'll give you an update tonight.

Just clarifying, as I also want to fix this in my car, the clips are like the ones you would find holding the trunk liner in, i.e. they will push in and pull out with a little force so it is easy to get them back on?

i couldn't do it...

it was too difficult to remove the plastic covering. if anyone isn't clear of what i'm talkin about...these plastic coverings are about 2-3 feet in length and extend from the bottom left and right corners of windshield and arch to the area when the hood flattens out. bascially, it's a good place to install tweeters too.

can anyone give me more detailed instrutions on removal? thanks

I know the one in the rear of the car are designed to pull off starting from the top. Start by prying from the top. Then get a flashlight and look behind the cover to see where you will have to disconnect the next connection parts. I have done it before. It's not to hard.

i just did this last night when i was painting my covers.. all you do it pry the top up a little and then the side closest to you and pull towards the opposite side of the car.. it took some strength, the clip are in to far to pry away, you really have to pull from the top and the upper sides.. its not as hard as you think, they are strong plastic.
