Need Help....Experience Needed !!

Im trying to find a possible problem with my car....Ill give you my Ideas on what it is then Ill let you decide....

1) A Comman 5spd thing
2) A Dead Coil
3) Plugs (possibly one is gapped wrong)
4) Exhuast loose
5) Cant be Moter mount cuase they were Poly Filled a year ago

Ok now Ill describe the problem...Cruizing in any gear or totally driving like a nut I feel this. Its a bog bog of the engine when you back off the throttle and get back on the throttle all in a little bit of time and you feel the entire engine shift out like its starving for Air. this Bog Bog gets as bad as the exhaust hitting in the back, (my exhaust doesnt fit all that well) but still....Now this is kinda re-post from a few weeks ago on my Thread "Gas on Gas off, Bog Bog" <----something like that

Im trying to figure out if everyone has this problem or just me...mostly described in lower RPM's 2000-2200 and up till about 3500-4000 and only in 2nd threw 5th...Its a very complicated thing to explain but im clueless

I may be making something outa nothing but....it doenst feel normal especially when Im driving my car hard and let off and get right back on it and they car feels not right

Thank you

Hey, my car has done this off and on since I got it a year ago. I replaced the fuel filter the other day and I haven't noticed the problem since. Also, the car starts a lot easier (I was having to crank it quite a bit to get it to start). It had the original fuel filter and I'm just under 151k miles.

Just reread your post, and to clarify, when I was moving down the road and let off the gas, the car would kinda shimmy a little. I think this is the same problem.

Yours is an auto...Different I think

The fuel filter has 4,000 miles on it...Im at a loss for words..
Anyone on here know what the Clutch Hydrolic system is made up of ???

Master cylinder 15,000 miles old
Slave cylinder 15,000 miles old
and is that it for the hydrolic system??

Maybe I have a problem with the Hyrolic System in the car if there are other components that make up the actual Hydrolic System ??

Knock sensor was done with a brand new Nissan Unit when the manifold went on last year.

I am beginning to think its the throttle position sensor...any ideas

Hate to break it to you Matty - I'm almost positive its your coils. Try searching if you can for ignition coil related problems (I've contributed a lot to these posts) and see if the problems described match yours. But by the sounds of it - they do. I'd say coils even more if you drove a 99, but you don't. Whenever my coils were failing - they'd bog in 2nd to 5th usually around 2K then when they got worse anywhere between 2 -4.5K RPM.

Its kinda a bog or even a miss...its a really hard thing to explain...if you give it a shot of gas, the car bogs bogs bogs then goes...its bogs so hard it bangs my exhuast in the back of the car... Im tryin to narrow some things down and maybe Ill have to get 6 new coils but its pricey...are you 100% ?? I need some more information about this

The car is almost hard to drive cause you gas it and you get a bog...again, really hard to explain..when I wanna drive fast and I let off the gas and reaply it within a second or two, I get bog bog, then it takes off...for the third time, really hard to explain

Thats where the "unevenness" is bad...right around 2K to 2300...

My confusion is that you give it the littlest punch of the gas then let off then gas it right away again, it bogs bogs bogs..can be done in 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th but only below a certain RPM....its a very strange thing..I also feel the same thing when I shift....if I shift really fast, say from 2nd to 3rd, the car will drop into gear but will bog bog bog the same way it does if I do the shot of gas on and off then back on..

matt = a confused man

The bog bog bog or bog bog all depends on how fast I am going, what gear im in, how fast I put down and up on the throttle..

Wouldnt bad plugs have a sign at idle that there bad ?? Same goes for the Coils ?? Couldnt I tell there bad If i rev the car up at idle, the car is smooth as glass and its also smooth at glass when driving normally...its when you go for that little shot of power too low on the RPM band that you get the bog bog bog

Matty, I know this won't help you any, but I have a 5 speed and I don't have those problems. It probably has nothing to do with your tranny. If I was in your shoes, I would be trying some of the ideas everyone else has posted involving fuel, ignition, and plugs. Most likely, it is one of those three. Best bet is to check for the codes.

anyone else want to comment on the problem I am having... ?? plugs go in on Monday and we will see

I have a feeling its either the Coils or the spot I tapped for the ECU....Im gonna change where I tapped for the ECU and if that doesnt fix it, Ill have to change the COils...are 99' coils bad to purchase ??

You have to understand something, My CAR runs fine at idle, at cruizing, NO white or Black smoke, never stalled once since I bought it 3 years ago..

The problem is when Im cruizing at low RPM's 2000-2500 and I let off the gas, then apply it back on then let it off, then apply it, ( all in rapid sucsetion)the engine goes nuts...its like a bump bump bump, go....really weird

-matt

gas related,
loose belt,
Plugs,
COILS ??,

I also feel it when Im spirted driving and I punch it and i get a bog bog then it goes...its very not normal

Fidanza Flywheel Related
COILS
Gas delivery Related

This is kinda a joint thread from the other one just like this. Its almost better explained as the gas pedal being really sensitive and affecting the driveablitly of the car

I also feel the bog when I shift...any help would be great
