Just some quick questions before I do my 5spd swap...
#41
Man, a while back I thought and thought and thought about this conversion for my car. I even located a brand spank'n new manual tranny for a great price. but the thing i cant get over is the massive torque steer. My automagic right now is already to much for my standards so I wonder what the torque steer might be like in a boosted 5-speed. just can't imagine...must be pretty scary on a narrow run.

5. The 5th gen tranny has no wheel bearing issues.
*EDIT* I found a 2000 5-speed for $550 on www.car-part.com.

dont you mean diff bearing issues? Thats what normally dies on the 4th gen trannies (happened to me). Isnt wheel bearing like at the tip of the axle and causes car to make serious hummm when it is bad? i had that too
