Rough Idle

Heys guys, I've been away from the org for a while and in my first two things to do is finally do a donation lol and figure out this problem. Anyways yesterday afternoon I've been driving around and the current temperature was 100 degrees plus like 100% humidity. Anyways I had my temperature in the car set for 71 and everything was fine till I turned right and stopped at the following stop sign where my idle went up and the car started shaking and my steer wheeling started vibrating hardcore. Off that stop sigh I started making a left turn and it lagged so much. Never before I seen such lag. Than after that I pulled over, turned off/on the car and everything has been normal since than. I'm guessing because of the heat and the engine hard at work with the air conditioning? But that bad? Thanks.

I was looking at it today and all I found was I need a new knock sensor. Before that happened I drove around for like 30 minutes with the windows open and it just got too hot so I turned up the air conditioning and a couple seconds later it happened. I'm going to replace the knock sensor tomorrow but today I drove around with the air conditioning and it didn't happen.

Ok this has been a bad day. I didn't check the air sensor yet. Will do tomorrow but my car rumbles!!! Twice today, I drove four times twice I felt such lag almost got in a accident because I was making a left turn and the car was far away but it was just so slow, the guy thought I did it on purpose. The acceleration in first and second is just awful. Once I get out it goes back to normal. I rev really high too during 1st and 2nd. A lot more than usually. When I'm sitting in a light the car shakes and the steering wheel too. I netrual, nothing? Something with my tranny guys? Thanks for any info.

Ok this is what I get for being a lazy A$$. I have been lagging to check this out , laggins just like my car. Just now I went for a drive, died on me 3 times at all 3 stop signs. Nice huh, anyway brough the crippled max back to it's nest and checked on one of the more common problems for our maxs, coil overs. Yep, coil over cylinder number 5 is gone. Problem is I got to wait till Monday because Nissan is closed. Anyone know where else I could get it? Would it be worth it over Nissan? More than likely I'll wait till Monday tho.

Ok another problem.... car is gone. Won't start at all now. I try to see if it was still acting all unstable and now won't start over. Would 1 coil over do that? I knew it was bad but not that bad.

We don't have coil overs in the engine bay, those go on your suspension. We have coils, and YES.

one bad igniton coil should do this at all. i drove on only 4 cylinders before. dealer price is about 80-90 bucks. get them online for about $60 replace your fuel filter, and check on your water pump.

ok i had a problem like that, except my car didn't die. check the connection to the COIL PACK (not a coil over HAHA! you're talking about ignition system not suspension)

make sure it's fully plugged in, if it wobbles or it starts to rough idle if you move it side to side make sure you plug it in ALL the way. my car was also misfiring if i revved it past 4K like real loud misfiring. now i plugged it ALL the way in and like new. (mine was also on cylinder 5) which is back rightmost cylinder. your best bet is to get a replacement mitsubishi not hanshin coil pack from you local dealer but only if the coil pack is dead.
