lights have come on

lights have come on

so while driving home last night i noticed my brake light was on even tho my my ebrake was down. and then the battery light came on, that's the one that's worring me. i've checked the voltage on it and everythings fine. any idea what triggered it?

the car is also idling at 800 instead of 600rpm

could be alternator starting to die on you?

your alternator is dead, get a new one.

thanks guys. i'm defintly going to get one put in tomorrow as long as i can find one. didn't have anyluck today.

advance auto parts and autozone will run a test on your alternator to see if it's bad... definitely get it tested before you drop the cash on another one

it is the alt. i did a voltage check on the batt. charged it. drove for a few minutes, and the voltage went down again. which tells us the alt isn't doing its job.

time for a new alternator

crajner -

I did the same test earlier at autozone and they told me the alternator is out the door and I replaced it 2 years ago from the recall
