CEL light w/ DR :/
CEL light w/ DR :/
On my third test run with my DR mod, my CEL started to glow and this really urks me. I know people who have done the DR mod have had this problem. Is it something that i would have to get fixed or is it just normally happen when you use this mod.. please help.
I want to reset my ECU too before my dad sees it. I am confused as of what to do because many dif. references say to do dif things. Can someone give me another write up on how to resett the ECU for those of you that have done it?

its weird, some people have the problem, some dont. in my case, i have the problem on occassions. sometimes i can run the DR without any light blinkin, but i still love the mod, it help me against a run against an eclipse today, it was all show no go...
I throw a code all the time. Its a 0745 which tranlates to 1205. "Line Pressure Solenoid Valve (Automatic Transmission)" Thats what is supposed to happen.
Oh, BTW, Big D, wrong again. This is the easiest way.

Over time the screw will break as did mine and then you really are screwed.

How is it the easiest way? First you have to shell out $ for a PDA or a scan tool. After that it's easy ,yeah, but I'd rather do it myself than spend money on crap I don't need. I understand that if someone already has one than it's easier, then again they need to buy a connector for the OBD2 slot anyway.
Stop being so cocky.

So how exactly do you reset the CEL @ the ECU?
Is the procedure, turn screw fully clockwise, wait 2 sec. then turn screw fully counter clockwise? What about what position does the screw need to be in after you have reset the CEL?

yeah, thats the same code i get too "Line Pressure Solenoid Valve (Automatic Transmission)" . does everyone get the CEL or just some people? I would think if everyone gets it it would have been brought up earlier.
maybe it depends on which wire you snip???
btw-cute shirt, is that fishnet?

so about how long does it take for the screw to break? anyone else have this problem? i also have a spare palm pilot layin around somewhere, where can i get the cable to connect it to my ECU? and is the Palm pilot like a code reader and can u reset your ECU codes straight from the palm pilots software?
Big D, true. However, bottom line is that its still easier. I reset with a button while you reset with a flat head and its a pain in the @ss to read codes.
nostrixoxide, you got the idea I think. Check the FAQ's to be sure.

There are others but this is the most user friendly and it looks awesome on a color screen. I recomend this very much. It will save lots of time and money for diagnosing problems. 1. You won't have to break your screw off. 2. You can usually measure the sensor in question and eliminate unecessary spending on new parts. Just before I got this hooked up I was going to buy a knock sensor but that is totally fine. So, thats $120 saved right there. Four or five self solved maintenance issues and this thing has paid for itself already. There is no set time for the screw to break. Before I got the car a previous mechanic messed up the screw. It still works but there is no stop to allow easy resesting because its broken off.
