anyone one here with the cattman catback exhaust care to give impressions?

after searching for a decent catback from my 99 maxima i have come to the conclusion that there is no reasonally priced exhaust out there. i wish greddy would release their SP2 for the 97-99 maxima's but alas not for a couple months, so they have lost my business. the only other decent exhaust for the 99 maxima i could find is there CATTMAN exhaust. it is a bit pricey at $600 plus shipping but i guess you have to pay to play. my question is before i make this very large investment i was wondering is anyone who actually has this exhaust can share their impressions on the quality of the product, fitment and the sound. also if at all any performance gains. i have never actually seen pics of the exhaust on the car. so if those are available that would be welcomed too...

I am in the same boat as you zack342. I am going to try to modify the 95-96 SP2 to fit my 99 Max. You should try doing that also. It doesn't seem like this would be very involved. Anyways what does the cattman exhaust look like? I never seen it before. Is it the one with the duel tips?

no your thinking of the frankencar catback and that guys is mia. i tried e-mailing him like atleast 15 times and he has replied once and said he never actually tried the echaust on a 4th gen. the cattman exhaust is one there website www.cattman.com. it looked like a very nice piece. but then its is also VERY pricey for an exhaust. $600 + price of hardware. if someone would care to explain what needs to be done to the 95-96 SP2 exhaust then maybe i would consider it but i don't wanna buy something that i know wasn't ment for what i intend to use it for....

Just get a local muffler shop to make you one. It'll be cheaper and if you get the right muffler you'll be happy with it.

I agree with big D, The $600 you have allowed me to pay for an intake, y-pipe, magnaflow exhaust, labor clear corners....The only thing I recommend really buying from cattman is a header. Only if you have the money for it.....

WHy do you want mandrel bends? Forget all the hype. The 1-2hp difference won't be noticeable. It's not like you're boosted or have that much power to need mandrel bends.

find a muffler shop that does mandre bends. buy a universal muffler and some 2.5 in tubing and have a muffler made that will hook up to a budget b pipe.

I have the new prototype Cattman exhaust that should be available here in a month or two and I must say that it sounds incredible. The full exhaust is polished with an almost bronze finish that just screams quality. It has a good size resonator like most Cattman B-pipes and the tip sits flush with the rear bumper. Numerous maxima owners here in town want this exhaust after they hear mine, but are waiting until the newest version is available.
