95 GLE Engaging Starter Trouble

I have 95 maxima that i bought last week. Love the car, but its got a problem that I didnt notice when I bought the car...

When i turn the key from the normal on to the position where it should engage the starter, nothing happens. The lights all inside dim, so the power is being transferred somewhere else. It usually takes 2-3 times of toggling the starter for it to kick in. Once the starter turns on, it cranks the motor fast and makes it seem like it started as normal.

Is my entire starter messed up, or is there a chance its wires? Im out of money now and hoping the problem is the latter...

The brushes in the starter need to be replaced. You just need to find someone to rebuild it. In my area it would cost less then $50, that is if you pull it out of the car.
