how do some of you guys get your coil cover to look so good? do you mask off the letters? and then how do you paint the letters? maybe a brush? i had a hell of a time with mine, and eventually i got fed up and just painted the whole thing one color. i dont like it though. i want the letters different.

anyone have any advice?

i didnt want to deal with masking off the letters so i just used bondo and sanded it all down, painted it and got a custom emblem made.

I only did the Nissan part, but I first sprayed the whole piece with white paint, let it dry, covered the lettering with KY jelly and masked off the inset part (see picture below), and sprayed the rest with red. Once it was dry, pull off the tape and wipe away the KY and you're done. It's not the best if you really examine it up close, but if you're more than a foot away from it it looks good.
