hey i got a simple question. I am currently working a deal to get new 2001 AE rims, i currently have 15' sawblades. I drive a 1997 GLE, will i need to lower my car or will it look good with stock springs. I really do not want the 4 X 4 look. And if anyone has a pic with a 4th gen on 17 inch SE's WITHOUT lowering, can you please post a pic. Your help is greatly appreciated.

itll look 4x4, i have 2 maxes, one is lowered iwth 15's, and the other has 16's but is 4x4, the 15's looks a hundred times better lowered, check my cardomainpage, the pebble beige has 16's unlowered and the black max has 15's dropped

yeah, its going to be 4x4... there's a 96 maxima on campus @ my college that has 5th gen 17"s unlowered and it looks like a monster truck

if i lower it, do i have to replace the springs and struts at the same time? the springs are must less expensive than the struts from what i see around. can i replace the struts at a later date or will the stock ones blow from the different springs?

Do it all at the same time, unless you wanna pay the install price twice. Unless you're doing it yourself, get it done all at once. You'll save like $200

WHoa...........yer slammed Max with sawblades look very nice. Did you have to get a camber kit to maintain alignment geometries?

My wheels are 16x7, with 205/50/16 and yes I have the 4x4 look (check my webpage). I'm opting for adjustables.

Lowering is definitely the way to go, no matter what rims you have on your maxima. 2DaMax, when I lowered my 96 with 1.5 in H&Rs, I needed a new alignment but camber bolts werent necessary.

The black Maxima looks sweet with that drop. Technique springs?? Never heard of them. How much drop do they give?

True.........but with 15" rims, I figured that the drop has to be at least 2" or more. That might actually necessitate camber bolts to correct the alignment. I'm hoping that 1.5" of drop would be enough for mine since I didn't want to throw off alignment drastically with an extreme drop.

Of course, they are pretty heavy. It will be more sluggish.

1. How low do you want it?
2. How stiff do you want it?
3. How much to do you want to pay?, etc...
