CV Boots Replacement

My local dealer found there's a crack on the CV boots. They want $325 on each side to repalce it. I think it's OUTRAGEOUS. I called a Nissan Specialist, and they quoted me $365 on both side, with inside and outside boots/sleeves replaced with OEM parts. Is that a good price?

A local Discount Tire Center advertise $59.95 installed, and 2nd boot same axle 1/2 price. How can the price varies that much??? Is the aftermarket CV boot just as good as the OEM ones? Should I stick with OEM parts?

Thanks in advance.

DAM. It cost that much over there? over here cost me about $150 for both. If I were you, I would find an other parts store for cheaper price, or if you just got money like that than buy from the dealer.
You willing to do it yourself? or let others do it for you. It not realy that hard to replace.

The price I quoted were for parts and labor. At this point of my life, I'd rather have someone else do it. Gone are the days that I could spend hours in my garage. But I might have more time to work on my cars when I get older.

$150 for both side and inside/outside? Is that parts price only?? Thanks for replying.

i paid $13 for each boot from napa auto and did it myself. took couple hours for me cus it was my first time attempting. but i saved a buttload in labor. $65 is a great deal. the local mechs around here charges $130 each side.

OEM parts are going to be more expensive then Auto store parts. Also you have to understand their mark up for parts delievery. Also the labor will cost you.

CV BOOT KITS ARE 30 bucks
Whole axles are about 60
These prices are at AutoZOne and ****

Buy those parts and go to the mechanic of your choice and pay his labor.
