going to a 5th gen 5spd

ive seen the info somewhere before but i havent been able to find it. in order to do this would i need to change the passenger side axel as well as the driver side? and what about the shift linkage; change that also? i have a 98se and im getting a 2k 5spd tranny. any help would be appreciated.

You will be fine..it is the same tranny exactly exept for the gears inside are stronger

As for the Axles they are the same part number for both of them as the 4th gen...if you are sceptical and dont beleive me, call an Axle guy and ask for the part numbers for a 4th gen 5spd axle and a 5th gen 5spd axle..they are the same

isn't the shift linkage or something like that a little bit longer in the 5th gen? which makes the shifter in a different position? i thought i read that a while back, but maybe not.
