95 Tach erratic

Hey all,

I have a 95 SE and the tachometer is erratic. I was going to replace the tach but after doing some research there seems to be quite a few people that have encountered this so I'm figuring the sensor supplying the signal has gone slightly haywire. I read thru the FAQ and didn't see anything pertaining to this issue, and I can't perform a search. I searched thru quite a few pages of the forum and didn't find anything. My Chiltons shows something of a tach signal from pin 5 of the ECU connector and it just ends there. Does anyone have any knowledge of this circuit?

Thanks in advance
Jim

I have same problem with my speedo - searched before and others say problem is the gauge and NOT the sensor. Don't know if same applies to tach
