going to use Seafoam for the first time this weekend, questions

i'll pour half a bottle in with the motor oil and half bottle get sucked in brake booster hose. i'll pour a bottle in the gas next week, when i empty the tank and get a fillup. how soon after do i need to change the motor oil and filter? its been about 2000 since the last change. should i just wait and do it at the regular 3000 miles? also i replaced the fuel filter last week. do i need to replace that soon after too? i thought i read somewhere that after 500 miles i have to change the oil and both filters but i'm not sure. thanks.

i meant to say seafoam but i can't edit the thread title.

i used 1/2 can on oil for 250 miles then the other half after the oil change then change oil after 2000 miles
on gas 1/2 can on full tank then 1/2 can on next full tank then replaced fuel filter

i guess i'm not sure why you need to change the fuel filter. its suppose to clean the injectors which is after the fuel filter and the crap is not suppose to flow backwards back into the filter.

if so why you use fuel filter? there dirt and particles in the gas tank beleive me i changed my fuel filter 8 months before sea foam then i did like that and opened the fuel filter with a hacksaw it was filled with dirty stuff i don't know what it was but i'm glad i did it
after that i use 1/2 can every month for the past 4 months and its great haven't tried on the intake yet but i'm thinking about b&g cleaning on that one

i alway thought the fuel filter traps the dirt and particles in the gas that comes out of the tank. once it get past the filter, and then cleans the injector, how does the carbon and crap from the injector get back to the filter? it certainly doesn't recirculate. unless the seafoam cleans the deposit in the gas tank as well.

if you put seafoam in the GAS TANK it circulates your tank, fuel lines, fuel filter fuel rail and eventually reach your injectors so i guess that any dirt stick along that path is removed by seafoam and trap in the fuel filter

but the fuel filter can't trap the dirt past the tank and the fuel line up to the filter. the fuel won't flow backward to let the filter trap the dirt along and fuel rail and injectors and such...

but it traps the dirt in tank and possible dirt in fuel line from tank to the fuel filter and after all changing the filter after using seafoam is up to you i did i never regret it

blk_g20, i think your focus on only the injectors getting cleaned is keeping you from understanding that the cleaning starts in the TANK. once the dirt is suspended in the tank, it has to follow the fuel flow through the line, cleaning it, suspending more dirt to flow to the filter. normally dirt collects in the filter over a longer period of time, but with the cleaner in the system this happens faster, thus clogging the filter or at least making it less efficient.
No dirt flows "back" into the filter from the injectors, that dirt gets squirted into the cylinders w/the gas. Change the filter after a couple of tanks. when you pull the filter let it drain into a clear bottle, then you'll really understand changing the filter.

I've done this twice throw the brake booster in the past 2 weeks and I swear to god if i'm at a full stop and have the car running it is COMPLETELY still....it TOTALLY reduced the idle and I can tell a difference in the higher RPM's....more responsive. This **** is the bomb!!!

Both times i used it throw brake booster I had a hell of a lot of smoke come out the exhuast.....should I keep doing this regularly until there is no smoke coming out? The site says repeat if nessisary......

if the dirt gets squirted into the cylinders, how does the engine get rid of it?

i think that no matter how clean your engine may be it still gonna smoke from the product itself burning

IMO, just like anything, too much or too often can have it's down side. through the intake, I only have done once in 4 months thru the tank twice in same time. just yesterday as a matter of fact, I put 1/3 of a can in the tank. also put on the larger 300z fuel filter. and oh yeah she idles smooth as silk with more power & smoother, easier acceleration. man your car can get addicted to this stuff!!
