just wonding about how much you think a trunk lid from a junkyard would cost. i called up a local salvage yard and they wanted 350 for just the lid i was like holy **** maybe 100-150. do you think a junkyard would switch out trunks with mine if i payed a little? i've never delt with a junkyard just lookin for thoughts.

i bought a 97 lid to do a swap and it was 140, i saw 95-96 for actually 150 to 160. good condition tho just need some TLC. the yard agreed to give me 70 bux for my old trunk but i never brought it back since someone on the org was in dire need of a new trunk so i agreed to sell it for 50, aint i a nice guy, but 350 is waaaaaaay to much IMO unless it was in such good condition and there wasnt another trunk in a 50 mile radius. i found my 97 trunk within 4 hours of searching the entire section of yards here in miami. alot of people look for weeks and cant find any. miami is the best place for wrecked cars since everyone here cant drive. im already seeing wrecked civic si's (new style) rsx's, new maximas 2002+, a crap load of pontiac gtp's woth the super charger installed. come to miami dude lol :-)

 

try www.car-parts.com and see if any in your are have them for cheap

there is a junkyard near my house. it carries import cars. i think they got 1 or 2 max's there. what kinda trunk lid u looking for? 95-96 or 97-99 ? does the color matter?

ill do the same man, im heading back to the yard to check some things out. they do export so i can see if you can get a good price, might not be as cheap as mine, 140 bux, but with shipping it shouldnt be more then 200. which is still 150 cheaper than the one you found.

 

well i went to the junkyard to check it out and they wanted $250 for it with spoiler and inner tail lights, it was the same color as my car so im debating whether or not to buy it. theres just something about the 97-99 trunk lids i don't like but i can't put my finger on it. but red clears would be nice. i guess its between gettin the trunk or a y-pipe. maybe in like a month if its still there ill pick it up. thanks for the help tho

 

I got mine for 150 with out the spoiler. Got lucky and found one the same color as mine. Didn't even need to paint it. $350 is too much.

 

i have a black emerald too but my trunk is deep evergreen. i was actually debating on whether i should paint it or not cause the color was so close, no one noticed it was a lil off.

on a side note 7 eyes, after you installed your trunk did everytghing close and lock. i installed mine and it didnt lock closed, the bottom latch needed to be moved up for it to lock but now the trunk looks like it is oppend, did you have to install the bottom piece of the latch on the car so the trunk closed and locked.

 

find a pull it yourself junkyard and get one for like $60

 

Everything lined up good. All I had to do was take the wiring off the old trunk and adjust the new one. It opens without any problems.

 

did anyone else have fitment issues when putting on their new trunk lid? and do many junkyards let you trade for parts or like give me a discount if i gave them my old trunk lid?
