Where is the oil pump? It's not built into the engine is it or is it in the normal place in oil pan. I have 208k and my oil light comes on when the rpms drop below 500 on lazy driving times. How much does an oil pump cost?

any imformation would be appreciated.

The oil pump is located on the crankshaft behind the timing chain cover. The oil pan, timing chain cover, and timing chain must be removed to replace the oil pump. It is a big job.

Before going to this expense you should check to be sure the engine oil level is FULL and that the oil pressure sensor is good.

Low oil pressure can also be caused by worn engine bearings.

This symptom should not be ignored. Make a firm diagnosis promptly.
