help brake problem

Hi, i have a problem with my brakes. I know 95-97 maxima's usually stay in second gear till you almost come to a complete stop when braking. I know this sucks big time because it's horrible on braking performance. My question is is their any fix to this problem because it just seems like everytime I brake it just feels like the car just wants to keep going. However my main problem is lately, when i apply the brakes in my ride (maxima 1997), it feels like their is more brake pressure in the front tires than in the rear tires even when the roads are dry, if i step on the brakes going 40 miles/hr, sometimes my right front tire looses traction. I thought my tires might need replacing but the mechanics say that my tire(s) are okay. It is getting so bad that when the road is wet i give myself more than enough time to slow down because on numerous occasions my front right tire(most of the time) just looses traction. I've tried putting the car in neutral b4 braking and it seems to take care of the problem because the car stops much better however i iknow that's not normal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Other than getting a set of good pads, stainless steel lines, brembo rotors and high quality brake fluid theres always a big brake kit. Losing traction in your tire could be a few things. Check the tread on the tire all the way from the inside to the outside. If its low, it will skid all over the place. You could also have a bad alignment which will cause your tire to ride on only part of your tire and not the entire tread. As for braking better in neutral, you always will with an auto. If your car is in drive, it will always push the transmission even when its slowing down. At idle your only doing about 700rpm which is still pushing against the transmission. So if your slowing down and put it in neutral, your putting zero load on the transmission hence better braking... but its not by much.
