95 steering wheel switch to 97,98,99

Hey guys, I have a stock 95 steering wheel and the rim is looking a little ragged. I'm sure it's possible to switch it for a newer stock wheel, but my main concern is the cruise control connections? Would they be straight plug in or rewire?

Won't work. I think you'll need a new air bag at the least.

Can't the air bag be taken out to mount the wheel and reinstalled ex: 97 wheel with 97 air bag?

An airbag is an EXPENSIVE thing to buy. Is it worth the money to just have a steering wheel that looks just a bit different? To me it isn't. Just like paying $300+ for a 97+ trunk lid just so you can use a $100 tail light.

I know what you are saying, I'm trying to find a stock steering wheel that isn't so hacked up, I wonder if my airbag (tan) from my 95 would fit in a 97 wheel

No, like I said. Someone tried that before and the air bags aren't interchangeable between the 95-96 and the 97-99 cars.

killcrap,
Does yours come with the bag? What's the condition of the wheel, any cuts or marks on the leather part?

MAXRB8,
What's wrong with yours?

Same here, just got a cheap nylon steering wheel cover. Its ok but not my style. My next alternative would be the leather wheelskin covers. But I wouldn't mind having a 97 steering wheel that's in good condition, minor tiny scratches are ok.

My steering wheel is still in pretty good shape. I'd say go to some junkyards and/or look on ebay for a 95-96 steering wheel in good shape and you can just use your own airbag.

Isn't it possible just have the steering wheel re-wrapped?

I thought of having it re-wrapped, going price for that is around $150 - $200 at most auto-upholstery shops. For that price, I'd rather pay for a Maxima steering wheel. If only e-Bay has a good selection of those, not that many people are selling their Maxima steering wheels.
