I took the car in to the Nissan dealer today because there was a strange noise that I would sometimes hear when taking off in first gear. Now they are telling me that its the transmission. Have anyone with 5spd had transmission problems? What are the early warning signs? I hope my extended warranty will cover this. I have a little over 77k miles on the car, is this something that happens so early on?

i just had mine replaced. The 5 speed tranny on the 4th gen max is very notorious to die...just wasnt built that great, although others have had better luck. There are many signs, not sure if there's a sticky for this but i would rather someone with better knowledge explain the situations u may be facing....

It should be in warrenty, get it fixed for free.
