Maxima preformace in late model cars

My maxima is great condition but it has 131,000 miles on it. I am gonna keep it as a daily driver for another year or so. but I am looking for a newer car for under 13 grand that is gonna give me the preformance of the maxima. What is recommended.

2k1 Maxima....this will maybe get moved to OT.

IMO - nothing beats the value and power you get from a Max. Then and now....try lookin at 5th gens

Yeah you can get a nice '01 for right around $13K. I don't think they have the 3.5L 6 in them but they do have a beefier 3.0L

for under $13K you can either get a low-mileage 4th gen or step up to a 5th gen ('00-'01)

Yeah and it's a beefier car too. those extra ponies have to haul around more weight and the 3.0l 5th gens are barely faster and some people say it's even. Now the 3.5l (2002-2003) 5th gens are another story...

If you are about performance and creature comforts get a 5th gen- make sure its a 5spd.. automatic 3.0Ls are not dragsters. If you don't care bout comforts that much- a used Integra GS-R is very reliable, fun to drive and gets pretty good gas mileage. Another option would be a spunky 00-01 Sentra SE 2.0L with a 5spd- reliable engine, tons of aftermarket parts for the engine, insurance is cheap, and it gets pretty decent gas mileage. It all depends on what you want from your next car. Cause ya can swing a used LS400 for that much if U are willing to get into a 96 model or older. I've seen a Maxima over here at my old Nissan dealer where I used to work at... a 95 5spd GXE Maxima with 410K miles on it- detailed and they where asking like 5K for it still- looked pretty good still and ran just fine. Guy got a 03 Max in a 6spd, I'm sure hes had more problems with the 03 by now than he had with his 95s. 3.0s rule

My friends brother had the 03. He hated it cause it always had a problem. Not the motor thought. It was mainly electrical stuff. He had the 04 in a 6-speed, loaded to the Max. Damn its such a nice car and pretty damn fast too. He loves that one. I would sat to go with a 5th gen cause its newer but the 4th gen is still the best looking in my opinion.
