need help purchasing rims
the smaller the more durable...
The smaller the rim, the bigger the sidewall of the tire is and the more tire there is to absorb impact of potholes. I'm in NYC as well, and I've had 15s 16s and 17s on my Max... I drove around on the 15s for months and months and nothing happened, in a three or 4 months of 16s I managed to mess up 1 tire, blowing a big bubble in the sidewall, the cable popped and I had to buy a new one, I bent the rim on the edge a bit but it was easily fixable, thank god.... I had Chrome 17s on for 2-3 weeks and in a few days I got 2 holes, and 1 bubble in 1 tire, which was pretty bad, needed replacement.
There are people here with maximas riding on 18s in NYC.. but I'd personally go for 17s..
With bigger rims, the ride quality gets worse too, it's not really too bad, some don't even mind.

Luxury Look
Heres what luxury type rims look like on a maxima(mine in particular)....these are 17" Ultra Nocturno's.....i drive in tn so i dont have to worry bout potholes as much. They are riding on potenza low pros (40). I also have the car lowered to rememdy the gap the low pros created.
