I was wondering if any of you guys have slight rattling/creaking noises coming from or behind their dash. My rattle/vibrations usually comes when I come to a full stop in drive or in reverse. Its not that loud and I think that most cars, when they getter older, develop these "aging noises". However, for me, it really bothers me because it makes that car sound old and cheap. I want the cabin of my car to be absolutely quiet. Do you guys have that same problem? Do you just live with it or do you guys go looking for the cause of the noise?

 

Mine comes from the Pass side airbag door. It rattles a little sometimes. I don't know why, but it is not worth messing with. I just turn the radio up. he he

Use a credit card or something to stuff some cotton or other insulation type stuff in there. Did that with mine, and it's not annoying anymore.

 

Read the Sticky with all the Technical Service Bulletins. There's one in there all about interior rattles.

 

i just read the stickys and read anything that had to do with rattling and squeeking and none of it seemed to apply to my problem which is a wierd squeeky chirping that comes from somwhere under my dash. it usualy starts after i have been driving for a bit and is most pronounce when i turn right or even just take a bend in the road right. it also happens when i decelerate by taking my foot off the gas on the highway and sometimes is constant during highway driving. it has nothing to do with my ac or heater being on or off, has nothing to do with cruse control and has nothing to do with the radio. its hard to even really tell where the noise is comeing from but its from under the dash somewhere. its slowly driving me to insanity.

 

Good luck stopping the rattles. Once it starts, finding the sources is like the quest for the Holy Grail. The TSBs give you some help but chances are your rattles will be in different spots. Mine are and I gave up on trying to stop 'em. Just crank up the volume like what Brudaddy says and enjoy the ride.
