ever attempted air ride

i was seriously looking into adding air ride suspension to my vehicle, but i wanted to know if anyone else has or has info on the provcess. it seems to me that everything would be fine except i cant find a vendor who supplies the brackets for a decent price. the rest of the parts except the bags are pretty universal but if anyone could relay to me their experience i would love to hear about it any info is great lata

f.b.s.s. runs about 2500 for everything if you install it yourself,
f.b. runs around 1500 for everthing you need.

I installed it myself easy all bolt on. call southwestautoworks and ask for steve.

I was looking into this as a dream mod after my turbo, lol. Bridgestone came out with their Praxis "adaptive air suspension system" for WRXs (see 168p. Performance Auto & Sound May 04). According to the article the suspension was actually... good. It’s based on what I interpreted as a bag with a reinforced strut or coilover, something to that effect. This is supposed to eliminate the bounce and sloppiness of bag systems. This system also allows for adjustment of spring rates, re/bound, and automatic ride leveling (junk in the trunk). Maybe we could get them to fit the max

I'd would give my left nut for a system like this on my max, since we get good 3 foot drifts on the highway in my area daily in the winter it may come in handy. A perfect all weather setup LOL if you want to see your $3.5k investment rust.

Try www.bridgestone.com for more info or if you happen to be a subie fan

The ride is pretty bad. And handling is sloppy.

my ride is smooth depends on the height you drive at lower is bouncy as far as handling is ok kind of sloppy. airride is for show. if you want to race and stuff get something else
as for weight i don't know adds a bit cause of tank compressors valves and air line.

air ridez are pretty much just for looks...If you want performance, get a JIC setup...If you want an air ride, dont plan on getting anywere special on the performance side...the max isnt a good car for an air ride, unless you wanted to make a show car...

Really, Performance A&S lead me to believe otherwise. I guess its a good idea to check other sources, P:A&S just happened to be the closest mag I had.
