In the FAQs they have a lot of information about Y-pipes and how much gains are seen.

If you going with an E-bay y-pipe just do some research on it find out who made it.

Pending on what kind of tool you have you may be able to do it yourself, you have a 99, so I would imagine the bolts wouldnt be that rusty, just be prepaired for rust or tough bolts.

I didnt see any y-pipes on ebay except for the one with headers included is that the one you looking at?

There are only warpspeed on ebay right now for 199.99 buy it now at the time, you might as well just call them and get it for the group deal price of $160 shipped.

also, since you're a 99, you may want to check and see if you're a fed spec or cali spec emissions...

i was going to ask the same question. im going to get a budget y pipe, and with my custom exhaust set up (2.5" cat-back, dynomax muffler), what sort of 1/4 mile times, and 0-60 times should i be looking at? im auto, and would do the DR mod if at a track. any thoughts?

There is indeed a link in the 4th Gen FAQ on various performance mods and associated gains to be expected. The link no longer works. Can anyone provide a new link or have access to what this linked to??

Thanks

well i just got my y-pipe installed last night, i have that and a dynomax muffler, all i can say is it seems like a whole different car, it's a little faster in the upper rpm's and it sounds completely different. seems like it's twice as loud as it used to be. my warpspeed makes some noises but i guess after awhile it might go away but for 160 shipped i would go ahead and get it, mine was a pain in the *** to install and i had to have a shop torch 1 of my bolts off. overall if it quiets up like they say it should it was well worth it.

im just curious what sort of times i should expect with the same set up. if you could get a sound clip or two, thatd be awesome. does it actually feel like the 15-20 hp gain that's claimed?

really make sure that you have fed or cali... i ordered the wrong one so now i have one of each... my car was cali spec, but being from ny i had no idea id have a cali spec car, after i got it i realized it wasnt the right one, so now i have an extra fed spec sitting in my living room in the box... warpspeed said that i could send it back if i paid them for the shipping and shipped it back to them.... i just havent gotten around to it...

I just had my warpspeed installed today

I have been extremely fortunate to have my cousin on these projects since we installed the y-pipe at Fergus Nissan where he is a technician. It was a pain to get the bolts from the cat off. One of the studs broke on the cat, so we had to use a torch to heat the area and vise-grip it out. I also read about people hearing rattles, so we went ahead and rounded out part of the cross member for the extra clearance. He actually rounded it perfectly...looks like it was always like that. Everything fit perfectly. He had it off and on in about an hour, but we had it on a lift with all the tooling in the world. I so far have to noise issues at all.

Last weekend we also put on a Fidanza flywheel, and ACT stage I clutch, so I hope I have the perfect setup for low and high RPM. I think the y-pipe seems to keep the engine pulling stronger in 3rd than before. I haven't completely opened up the throttle since I only have just under 200 miles on the clutch, but took 3rd to 5500, and it seems like it pulls quicker but we shall see at the track by end of summer.

I ordered my y-pipe yesterday from warpspeed, but they didn't ask me if I had a fed or cali spec.

Im planing to do a full header back system once I get my welder. I would make a jig so I may be able to make 4 or 5 y pipes or even header back systems. Is the placments of the upstream O2 sensors critical or could they be placed in more accesable locations.

!IF! I did do a full setup it would be for 95-98s

make sure u get a good flex section for your y when u make it and good luck, im not sure if the placement of the O2 sensors is important or not. don't see why it would matter but who knows. do you have a pipe bender?
