i have a little trunk leak when it rains alot...ok when it rains moderatly
...its on both sides of the trunk just in the front and more of like a condensation leak. it really isnt running water and really not sitting water...i took the spair out beasue it made sence that water would be down there but it was dry..its a stupid question but maybe someone knows a tip on taking care of it or even if its worth it.

- A defect in the rubber seal at the edge of the rear window.
- A defect in the rubber weatherstripping between the trunk lid and the car body.
- A defect in the seal around the taillights.
You may perform your own diagnosis. This requires an assistant, a garden hose, a flashlight, and a roll of duct tape.
1) Remove all cargo from the trunk. Dry it out as best you can.
2) Use duct tape to cover the periphery of the rear window.
3) One person (the "inside man") climbs into the trunk. Close the trunk.
4) The other person (the "outside man") plays a stream of water onto the taillights. With the aid of the flashlight, the inside man watches for any sign of water infiltration. Two minutes should suffice.
5) The outside man plays the stream of water all over the trunk lid. The duct tape serves to ward off any infiltration past a defect in the window glass seal. The inside man watches. Two minutes should suffice.
6) The outside man peels off the duct tape and then plays the stream of water all over the rear window. The inside man watches. Two minutes should suffice.
When you discover the source of the leak use a sealant and/or replacement weatherstripping to eliminate it.

yeah
mine got rearened on the gas tank side and the quarterpanel was replaced...im just confused beacause its a little leak like not even water its like condensation on two little parts of the trunk...ill try your diagnosis thingy...thanks
I had the exact same problem when I got rear-ended, and the leak persisted after I got the car back from the body shop.
The "Garden Hose Method" revealed a weld had opened up on a body panel seam next to the tail light assembly. Seam seal on the inside and caulking compound on the outside combined to stop that leak for good. No more drowning spare tire...
