Flashing O/D Light

The other day when I started the car the O/D light was flashing, and then went away. Can anyone tell me what it means?

I had this happen to me too, and it kept happening every week or so after the first time i got the blinking OD light. 4th Gen's are known to have their spedo go out. This is likely what it is and it cost me around $430 to get it fixed at the dealer. There isnt much info out there on it and its not a easy thing to change cause u gotta take the the gauges out for it. Also you need to have the new speedo calibrated before installing it.

Just to be sure though do a diagonistic check on the tranny first and if everything comes back normal then you know its the speedo. Oh yeah and you should get a check engine light which will give codes for the speed sensor even though the speed sensor is fine. Bascially the speed sensor is sending signals to the speedo and the speedo to the ECU, since the speedo stops sending signals to the ECU it will detect it as a faulty speed sensor.

Good LUCK!
