timing chain sqweel? how to fix
ok i read another post before about sqweeling and somone said it was the acc. belt tensioner, can somone tell me what exacly is making the high pitched ****car noise? its obviously coming from the pass side of engine where timing chain and acc. belt is so idk which one it is but either way for the belt can i just jack it up and use a ratchet and sockets to adjust the tensioner? anyone else have this prob?
ok so how do i do it, just find the belt tensioner and adjust it with ratchet and sockets? or can i just spray some Prestone belt dressing in there? we use that stuff at work but thats cause we dont have time to adjust belt tensioners
sometimes that whining is the alt going bad

If it's the belt, you don't need to jack up. I do the adjustment from the top and I use an ondinary 14mm spanner. The tensioner is the small pulley assembly between the alternator and the main crankshaft pulley(UnderDrivePulley).
