Starter motor prolem

Im pretty sure it had been brought up before, but since i can't use the search button, im going to post this. Here is my problem. My car does starts most of the time, but once in a while it won't start unless I hit the starter motor lightly with something. Anyone else had this problem and is it the solnoid that needs to be replaced, the motor itself, or both....if so how much is each going to run me? Thanks in advanced.

If you're going to replace something, replace the starter, if not, read the FAQ's and clean the starter, it's on the motorvate website.

Time for one of the following, I would recommend #2.

1. Remove, open, clean and regrease the starter/solenoid.
2. Replace the starter with a Nissan OEM replacement. Most have had poor luck with cheaper versions from Autozone etc. A Nissan rebuilt will run you about 220 bucks (with a core swap).

Either way, look on www.motorvate.ca for details on remove/repair/installation.
