Okay, I am getting ready to purchase the FTSB. I notice a couple of you had some problems when installing it. What was this problem? Did everyone have this problem? or does it just happen on some of them? I could really use the help. I will be placing my order within the next 24 hours. Your info and input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure only the people with 99s have the problem. If you don't have a 99 it should be a perfect fit. This is a very good bar and it is a great price.

I do have a 99 GXE. So what should i expect? what needs to be cut? I'm just trying to be prepared so I don't have to wait long.

You do have to cut a bracket Darthswan.

I have a 99 SE-Limited and I had to cut the bracket off the driver's side strut tower. I asked Daniel B. and he said that this bracket may have been used by some of the Canadian Models. So don't worry about cutting it off. I have enclosed a pic here of the bracket and a couple of what it looks like after I cut it off and what it looked liked installed. After you cut if off, it will be a perfect fit. My hood closes just fine and I have plenty of clearance. I think you made a good decision by going with the Vibrant bar. It seems to made with good quality. Enjoy the ride man. I love mine. It tightened up the front end nicely. Later.

I just install one last night on a 96, so I did not have to cut the piece off on the drivers side. However, I did have to modify a bracket on the passenger side. This bracket is to support an air conditioning pipe, aluminum, that passes thru the firewall. It attaches to the body sheet metal beside the strut. I think some people have just bent the bracket so that the pipe did not rub on the strut brace. I took the bracket off and drilled a hole about 1/4" above the existing slot. When remounted, it pulled the AC pipe down away from the strut brace. Bad news for you AC & freon if the two rub together for too long.
