HELP!!!!!high beams dimmer then low beams

ok so i did the 9004- 9007 conversion, and i know someone is going to say i have the high beam and low beam wiring backwards. but i know i dont, low beams are at the brightness they should be, and high beams are dimmer, aiming of the headlights is not an issue, and the bulbs are not either, they worked find in my moms car and they still do when i put them back. by the way the problem was the same on my 9004's but i thought that it was just the bulbs but it wasnt. just wondering if anybody has had this issue, and when i turn my lights on with the car not running, i hear a click coming from the front right fuse box? any help would be very much appreciated, taking a long drive tonite and i need high beams.

Could be that our housings aren't reflecting the light correctly as they were designed for 9004s. I noticed that my high beams were only marginally brighter than the low beams when I did the conversion.

If you haven't done so, read this thread carefully. It contains pics so you can compare it with what you got. I'm willing to bet that you have the low and high beam wires switched. If you have used an upgrade harness, doube-check your wiring. I ran into some minor issues but nothing like yours.

I'm with THT, because the maxima housings were not made for the 9007s could be the issue

thanks everyone, i fixed it, the problem was that i had it wired for a 9004 bulb, i noticed this by comparing the wires from the new and old harness, this could be why i was running into problems, because it would be grounding into the lowbeam, VERY BAD, i did fix it, and my neighbor is an electrical engineer, he ran some test on the wiring for me and said i have not damaged anything, so thank god, but thanks for the replies, some people jump on your case, criticize and such, while others help troubleshoot, to you all, i thank you.

Your right about that THT, the headlight housing is not meant for the 9007 beam pattern. The high beams provide more beam intensity, however, the beam direction is not like a normal high beam. This is due to the fact that when the 9007's were installed, many members have had to reaim the headlights down. So that pretty much kills the high beams, but the beams are much brighter with high beams on. Try and stand infront of your car and play with the high beams and you'll see what I mean. From inside the car, the high beams just don't place the beams right at the car's back window in front of you. I'm not worried about it anymore since we all drive with our low beams most of the time. Look at the HID equipped cars, they don't even have high beams. Although, some newer kits do have them now.
