I am planning on droping my car with H&R's, but I am not sure what type of shocks I should get. I want the drop and the ride offered by the H&R's, so I would like a shock that helps with the support. I want performance, but also a good ride quality. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any info would be great! Thanks in advance...

I have tokicos with my H&Rs

I like the setup. It give the car a nice look, handling characteristics, and comfort. The ride is harsher than I expected, but I'm glad I didn't go the Eibach or Ground Control route. I'm sure it's just me, but I like a soft ride every now and then.

I was looking to go with the H&R/Tokico setup as well, but where is the best place to get H&Rs? I've seen H&R ($229.00) and Tokico's ($319.00) from Shox.com, but that still seems like theres room to find a lower price.

H&R's w/ Tokico set up

I think this is the way I'm going to go also. From what I've read, this set up will keep the ride closest to stock.

While I'm thinking about it: After talking to guys at a meet this weekend I'm leaning even more towards H&Rs. Loren said his Eibachs were great with his 16" wheels, but when he went to 17" he felt a big difference. I have 18" on my car, so I'm trying to maintain ride quality Just thought I'd add that. We should get together some sort of group deal or something so we can save some money.

As I was told many times, I thought that the best setup that rides closest to stock was the H&R/Koni setup. I thought that the Tokicos were kinda rough and went bad after a certain amount of miles. Just my .02 cents.

What about KYB GR2s? I think they could do just as fine as Tokicos, they seem to be sizing up to my Intrax, but I do want to try out a few springs, especially H&R.

If money's not an issue, go H&R & Koni's for the best setup.

my sugestion is..

The H&Rs for the springs for surre for shocks I am still trying to figure that out I have the H&Rs sitting in my house waiting for me to find some shocks or struts anyway so far what I have found out is that the tokico's seem to die very fast with any after market springs the Konis are crazy expensive but are adjustable and there is a guy trying to set up a group buy for those for like $451 shiped which seems like what I will go with the KYBs adjustable ones are not out for the maximas and the other ones suck just my .02 cents on this suspension stuf.

There has been too much talk about the KYB AGX's, but the question still remains: are they EVER coming out?

People have called and been lied to many many times. They were rumored to be released September 2000, then November 2000, then March 2001... We cannot even be certain that they are actually working on it!!

I have tokicos right now. If I could do it over again I would spend the extra money and koni. Tokicos go soft after 10k miles.

I have the H&R/Tokico combo. It is great. Ride quality is definitely diminished, especially if you have huge rims. Mine at 17" and I think the ride is pretty rough already. I can't imagine how bad it would be with Eibachs, which ride more harshly than H&R's. As for the Tokicos, they have been fine for me. I have no complaints about the performance, which is lightyears better than stock.

Re: H&R and Tokicos

I just got H&R and Tokicos combination installed on my '97 GXE. The ride is slightly stiffer than I expected, but that is mostly because of the pavement conditions in Brooklyn. I paid $214 for H&Rs from www.tirerack.com and $275 for a set front and rear Tokicos on Ebay. I think the same guy still sells tokicos on Ebay for $285.

Check Out southwestautoworks.com For H&R / Tokico Dealdeal

Hey Gang, call Alex at www.southwestautoworks.com

He runs some deals for this stuff for www.maximadriver.com members, and check out Cheston's site when you get a chance too, since he did some legwork for this deal.

119 I think for H&R and 300 for Tokico's, but not sure

Ive had my H&R and Tokico set up for over a year now and not one problem with them yet!
I still have performance and the smooth ride that H&R is known for.
goodluck with whatever you decide on

H&R/Tokico

I purchased H&R's and Tokicos from Shox.com for $210 and $300 respectively. The guy was kind of hesitant at first, but I told him I found the same prices elsewhere. Talk to Arthur, as he would probably give you the same deal. Putting them in this weekend, assuming that ugly brown truck shows up tommorow.
