gauge lights so dim

I dont know if the maxima interior lights are supposed to be this dim, but its bothering me. I have the dimmer switch clicked all the way to its brightest setting, but I've been told by every other passenger that it looks really dim. Is there a need to change my battery?

Also, I remember reading this in the forums, but I cant find it. What is the purpose of a grounding kit? Thanks.

Should not be dim (assuming they are indeed dimmer than normal since you say that others that have been in your car have also noticed). Maybe the dimmer switch is shot - its just a resistor of sorts... try pick up a replacement switch at a junk yard and see if that changes anything... since you say its ALL your interior lights, its most likely something centralized that controls everything i.e. the dimmer switch.
