my friend just got a 97 maxima GLE and he wants to put in the factory fog lights, i have heard that the car comes pre wired for them. Is this true? And if so what elso other than the lights does he need to buy? (relay, switch, etc...).
thanks for any help

I just looked into this:
You can buy the kit for $176.00 plus shipping from Courtesy Nissan.
If you have the lamps you need to buy:
$11.06 relay
$28.40 each mounting bracket
$52.32 control switch
The wiring is already there in your car, its just taped up with the other wiring behind your headlights/clearance lights.

go here:
The wiring is in the harness directly behind the LEFT headlight I believe.
The Switch is actually just a straight-up replacement of your current signal/headlight control switch on the left side of your steering wheel
Go to cheston's site, he has the fog lamp install instructions up there:

That's about what I paid...

You will need to (off the top off my head):
1) disconnect battery
2) Cut the plastic piece in the bumper where the fog lights go
3) mount each light and connect to the wiring already there that's wrapped in grey tape
4) take apart your steering column to access the wiring there
5) remove your old turn signal lever, install the new one with the control for the fog lights and reconnect it to the wiring harness
6) put your steering column back together
7) reconnect battery
8) enjoy your new fog lights
*there is also a way to rewire your fogs so they come on without having your headlights on but I haven't done that. This is the stock setup that I explained
Hope that helped...

Temp. part listing for 4th gen.: http://www.courtesyparts.com/onlines...=a32_quicklist
(Hope that works...)
If you get a price through e-mail they will give you $176. If you call they say over $200. I called and they gave me the high price and I just told them I was told 176 online and they gave it to me for that. Good luck.

I have a 96 GXE. I hate the front bumper, and the fact that I have no fog lights. What are the chances that I could put on a 97-99 front bumper, and install those fogs?
a good chance
Goto Ebay
there is a 97-99 Front bumper cover on right now.

but you are better off getting the Courtesy kit.

You can do it relatively easy but i wouldn't reccomend it. You can buy the set of fog light kit from a 95-96 and not have to change the entire bumper and still get the fog lights. Unless if you really want to change the bumper that bad. You're the boss.

Why wouldn't you reccomend it? I hate the ugly 95-96 bumper, and I think that the 97-99s are a definite improvement. I didn't know about the grille though, hmmm.
