Cross Drilled Rotors and Pads question

I bought the Stillen cross drilled rotors along with the metal matrix pads they recommended about a year ago. Aside from the extra brake dust the pads look like they need to be changed already. I think I put about 30k on them. I drive about 70 miles a day.

My question is this, can I use a different brake pad then that they recommend? The reason is one being the brake dusk issue the other is longevity.

Any suggestions you guys can give would be appreciated.

I heard that it wasnt smart to change your brake pads cause they say that the ceramic OEM brake pads will work best with the car.

ceramic pads are quieter and create less brake dust also in general a better pad...metallic and semi-metallic are gennerally the cheap pads.
