*Edit - Also, since this car is located out of my state, I was wondeing if I could use plates from a diff car of mine to put on that temporarily while I drive back??? Anyone know what I could do so that I coudl drive the car back home?? Know about going to the DMV in that state to get temp. plates, but is it illegal to use plates from a diff car that I own temporarily till I get home?? Someone pls. let me know...
Can't think of anything else to do

It's not the best deal in the world. Your basically paying every penny the car is worth, but if you want it bad enough, go for it. Personally, I'd try and talk them down a bit though, at least $5 or 600. KBB on the car is $9350 and that's probably being a little generous. Offer $8200 at first and see what kind of reaction you get, all they can say is no. I'm sure they know what it's worth and if they want to sell bad enough they'll come off $9500 at least a little.
As far as the tag goes, you always have a grace period to get it after you purchase a new car. Usually, 4~10 days, depending on the state. Just be sure that when you drive it, you have a copy of your bill of sale or title in the glove box so that if you get pulled over you can say, "Hey look, I just bought this car, and here's the proof."-

Its not a crime to drive with out of state plates. As long as you dont do anything that would attrach fiveOs, you could probably keep it over ten days. Just becareful. Also, do what daily says, offer less. Bargaining is the key. I got my 99 for $9100, has like 80,000 miles on it thou.
thats alot of $ but the miles are super low, its a personal choice but no it's not a rip off. I'd say to offer 8750 and see reaction. Why not just get a 5-spd? You will probly regret not getting a 5-spd
Depending on where you live you can just go to the DMV and tell them you are buying a car and need a temporary plate they will give you one of those paper ones that lasts like 30 days and you don't have to worry
i paid 9700 for a '97 se 5 speed with 49k. although, the exterior and interior are mint, almost never driven on the hwy, and I know the guy that has serviced her car from 200 miles; and know she drove it like a nancy.
it's a lot, but it was def. worth it to me. took me so long to find a nice 5 speed, then hit the jackpot
no regrets here
