CEL after a OIL CHANGE... WTF!?!?!?!?!

Ok, so today I went to get an oil change at near by mom/pops mechanic shop. I got 5 bottles of Mobil 1 (High Mileage Syn Oil), I took a extra bottle because I wanted them to flush out the original old oil with the new one. So I get there and told them what I want them to do, and I left to go get a quick snack next door at a little food stand. My buddy stayed behind, well I come back everythings was good to go. So I left, I left around 4, and drove the car off, around 10:00pm this afternoon my CEL comes on, WTF!?!?!?! I'm worried now, cause I need my baby to go to work. What can be the problem??? My friend told me that they didnt flush out the oil with the new oil I got, and that they put all 5 bottles into the car, isnt suppose to take only 4qts(4bottles of oil)???? So what can be my problem?? I havent pulled the codes yet, until tomorrow, I doubt my sparks are flooded cause the cars would start normally. Well any advice would help,,

Also on the sidenote: How do I go about getting my original org name: NismoMaxMan??? I got that screen name way back when I borrowed my cousins computer, and under his email address, and some how i remembered the password when I got mine, but I no longer remember my password for Nismomaxman, and I hate using Nismomaxman2 cause it says " you should read the....." instead of "maximaniac" plus all my ims are in there too.

The two events could be totally unrelated. Pull the codes!

1. Pull Codes
2. Check your oil level

I wasnt able to pull the codes tonight, due to me getting out of work at 12:00am, but I'll do it today in the morning. I would of taken it to autozone, but they told me for 95 the need a special adapter to pull the codes, from 96 and up the adapter is universal. (so in other words go to the dealership). The only reason I hadnt pulled the codes is because maybe it was something related, but yeah like I30tmike said it can be totally unrelated. THanks guys, I'll update later today.

njmaxseltd what insurance did you use? I got a quote from geico thinking i was going to save 15% and it turns out to be 3x as much as my current insurance!

It takes me like 1 min and a flat head screw driver to pull codes. Do 97's have different ecu setups than 95's?

I got a EVAP canister control valve code and I said f it -- My car still runs fine. The light went away after a week. If it aint broke dont fix it

Ok, well I finally got to pulling the codes:
I'm not happy with my results...

0304 <--- already knew about this one, I'm getting my knock sensor fixed really soon.

0702/0703 <----WTF, maybe because I got a guy to weld the bracket in the exhaust system, you know how everyone was complaining about that weird noise coming from the bottom of the car, when the accelrated, that nasty exhaust tapping noise under the shift??? Well it turned out to be a metal bar, and when the car is in drive, it the exhaust would rattle due to the engine moving a bit.

0302 <----WTF?? DOnt know much about that one

I don't know what those codes are for, but in regards to the oil, an overfill of half a quart is acceptable. Any more would bother me though.

Have you already reset your ecu and the same codes came back?

I changed my oil and seafoamed my engine last weekend and had 0302, 0702 & 0412. Reset and only 0412 came back which I have figured out...the other 2 haven't shown back.

the 0702 and 0703 is the 3way catalyst crap. Meaning both the front and rear O2 sensors have something to do with it. The O302 is the EGR which I have crap about in my sig.

Well I'll pull the codes again, I did reset the ecu cause I no longer have the CEL light, but I'll double check, if I get those 02 sensors fixed, then no biggie correct??(hopefully) how do I fix that EGR bs??
